Mr Hairul Ahmad has written and convenes a course for new surgeons on ‘Foundations of Minimal Access Surgery’ at The University of Western Australia’s Clinical Training & Evaluation Centre (CTEC) in Perth.
This course is run four times a year and Mr Ahmad regularly gives his time to teach participants of varying skill levels ranging from final year medical students to junior doctors and surgeons-in-training.
This year he was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for convening this course.

CTEC provides an authentic simulated hospital and operating theatre training experience for professionals in the disciplines of surgery and medicine with the aim of improving patient care. CTEC is also plays a key part in the teaching of advanced surgical skills in the practical component of UWA’s Master of Surgery (MS) course.
